An agreement with the Canton Motorcycle Club — which is requesting use of the former motorcycle track for a special event — was discussed.

Members of the club brought up the issue of having to pay $250 to the city up front, in addition to 50 percent of gate fees.

Ellis suggested that the $250 be put down as a deposit and on the day of the event, the amount will be subtracted from the city's half of the gate fees.

Another concern was having to pay taxes on the property for just a one-day event.

Second Ward Alderman Tad Putrich agreed with the concern, and the change will be made to the agreement.

During this time, it was noted that because the track is outside city limits, the club may have to obtain a special use permit from the Fulton County Zoning Department.

The council will revisit the agreement at next week's meeting.
